With the recent trend of ‘Going Vegan’, I was fascinated to know all about veganism. Vegans go out of their way to eliminate all dairy, poultry, meat and seafood from their diet with no animal products like milk and eggs.
Is veganism a fad or it really is a healthy way to life? Your opinions are most welcome here 😊.
I had to try vegan food at least once in this life time. Please know that I am a hardcore non-vegetarian but I respect every person’s dietary preference.
Vegan food is not cheap guys, it is a tad expensive because of the ingredients (I’m guessing). Although, I managed to find a small vegan place at Kensington Market - I told you I had to go back for more 😁,Veggie D’Light is where I decided to have my vegan meal.
This vegan restaurant has a simple menu with combo meals, beverages like their home made tonics, a couple of desserts, and a whole lot of love in their food. As you enter the place, you will see the owners serving fresh vegan food to their customers.
I saw that their meals looked quite filling so I ordered their curried chickpeas, brown rice, jerk seitan (wheat gluten), moringa loaf with house sauce.

This is what I got, isn’t this a colorful plate of food???
To be honest, I did not expect much but to my surprise, the food was not bad at all. The seitan was something new for me and I did not quite like it much. However, the curried chickpeas were well, perfectly balanced in taste and the best part was the tiny slab of moringa loaf.
Eating this meal made me feel healthy and it sure kept me full for the day.
Verdict? Vegan food is worth a try!
