It is my 7th week in Canada. A new place, a new beginning with new people, and most importantly, a different food culture. Adapting to a new place has never been a problem for me but this week, I terribly missed home. I was craving for some Naga(refers to people from Nagaland, India) food that is so close to my heart. However, I failed in finding any place which serves Naga food. Maybe, not a lot of Nagas around here in Toronto. The closest I could get were momos.

Nothing like a hot plate of steamed momos with spicy chili dip and a small bowl of soup. This is how momos are served back home in Nagaland. Momo is a Tibetan snack/meal dough stuffed with a meat or vegetable filling which is steamed/deep fried.
Surprisingly, I found a lot of Tibetan restaurants here in Toronto mostly around Queen Street West, Parkdale. I had to pick Loga’s Corner as they apparently served the best momos in town.
It was a nice warm feeling entering this restaurant because it reminded me of the momo joints back in Nagaland. The owner was super sweet and served me with a plate of piping hot beef momos.
The momos came with a dipping sauce which was a wee bit spicy for me. The momos though, were fresh and succulent with all it’s goodness packed in that steamed dough.
I agree that these weren’t anywhere close to the best momos I’ve had but, they were decent enough. At least, I felt at home eating them so I am not complaining. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone willing to try out Tibetan momos for their first time.
I’m going on a mission next week so stay tuned & watch out for more on this page. Thank you for your love! Till then, take care & live life!
